Map

Family Ancestry Map
    1. Family Ancestry Map (FAM Chart) is a form of family tree diagram
    2. that shows relationship between root family and ancestor families going back several generations.
    3. FAM Chart provides
      • a visual relationship between families (following a path)
        • that is extended to members contained within each family
        • families are contained within branches
        • Branches and deep ancestor families comprise the complete Family GPS
      • An Identifying Number System
        • that provides Geographical Positioning System (GPS) coordinates
        • to relate and describe members and their families
        • Fam ID
        • an integer ID number for each Family based on position within the map
        • Ind ID
        • A decimal ID number for each Family Member based on Family ID and birth order

  • serve as a reliable GPS coordinate to place your family on the map
  • are assigned based on standard Family Ancestry Map (Fam ID 1 thru 16).
  • Fam ID 1 thru 7 refer to main branches
    • (we maintain descendent records for these branches)
  • Fam ID 8 thru 15 refer to several generations back - Father's Father's Father family - Mother's Mother's Mother family
    • We maintain family data for these families but we do not maintain descendent records for these branches in our basic FamilyGPS model.
  • Family ID articulately identifies each Member's and Family's relationship from the root family.
