The most critical aspect of genealogy accounting is to clearly identify each
- member of your family,
- family within your extended family
- and the relationship between family members and families.
Family Ancestor Maps (FAM Maps) facilitate the assignment of Family ID numbers ( FAM_ID )
Family Member IDs ( IND_ID ) are derived from the FAM_ID and birth order of each Child born into the family.
Spouses that marry into the family (i.e. not born into the family) are assigned an IND_ID based on FAM_ID of family they are Parenting and
marraige order.
Every Family (FAMILY.DBF) recorded in your family tree must have a valid FAM_ID consistent with node location on the FAM Map.
Every Family Member (FAM_MEMBER.DBF) recorded in your family tree must have a valid IND_ID and FAM_ID consistent with their birth order (marraige order for spouses)
