Mrs. Ellen Haley

March 25, 1918

At the home of her son, John J Haley, 514 W. Dominick Street at 11 o'clock Sunday night, ocurred the death of Mrs. Ellen Haley age 82 years.
For the past ten weeks she had been ill as a result of a general wearing out of the system.  Her maiden name was Ellen Loftus.
She was born in County Sligo Ireland in 1835 and came to the United States in 1868.
She located at Oriskany and three or four years later came to Rome and had resided there since.
Her husband, Edward Haley, died 19 years ago.
She is survived by one daughter Mrs Joseph Tierny of Rome
and four sons - Thomas, John J and Martin of Rome and William Haley of Schenectady.
also three grandchildren - Gldys Haley of Rochester, Police Officer William Haley and Edward Haley of Rome
four great grandchildren (not named)
a sister - Ann Loftus  and two brothers - John and Thomas Loftus all reside in England

Mrs Haley was a faithful member of St Peter's Church
She was kind and charitable and had many friends who will extend sympathy to the bereaved family.
