Alta M. Haley, 77, of 8601 Upper West Thomas St., passed away Thursday, August 14, 1997,
in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born February 19, 1920, in Rome, NY, a daughter of Harold and Myrtle Cook Reames.
She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy class of 1939.

Alta was united in marriage to James N. Haley. He passed away in 1974.

She was an employee at the former Rome State School for 25 years.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lee Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 1794, Lee Center Senior Citizens

and was an avid camper at Stoney Knolls Campgrounds.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Dawn Haley,
- a brother, Carlton Reames, all of Rome,
- three grandchildren Shane, James and Leon Haley,
- four great-grandchildren, David, Shane, Joshua and Taylor Haley.
Funeral will be held Saturday. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
